Authorization
We submit the treatment plan to Molina, follow up until it is approved, and track the six-month renewal so hours never lapse.
- 5

Most CMS families begin 2–4 weeks after approval. Same technician, same BCBA, sessions built around school and family routines.

CMS Plan questions
What is the CMS Health Plan?
Children’s Medical Services (CMS) Health Plan is Florida Medicaid’s managed-care plan for children with special health care needs, including autism. Since October 1, 2026 it is administered by Molina Healthcare (before that, by Sunshine Health).
Does the CMS Plan cover ABA therapy?
Yes. ABA is a covered benefit for eligible children with an autism spectrum diagnosis and a physician referral. The plan authorizes an assessment first, then treatment hours in six-month cycles.
Is Beaton Care in-network with Molina CMS?
Yes. We are contracted with the full Molina Healthcare line in Florida, including the CMS Plan, Medicaid (MMA), Long-Term Care, Marketplace and Specialty plans.
My child was getting ABA before the plan moved to Molina. What happens now?
Authorizations approved before the switch are honored during Molina’s continuity-of-care period. If your current provider is not in Molina’s network for the CMS Plan, you can transfer without losing hours; we request records and coordinate the switch.
How many hours will my child get?
It depends on the BCBA’s assessment and medical necessity, not on a fixed cap. Plans commonly range from 10 to 30 hours per week and are reviewed every six months.
Do I need a CMS care coordinator to start?
No. Care coordinators are helpful, but you can call us directly. We can also loop your coordinator in so everyone has the same information.
